My Approach to Coaching

Ordinary Hero Coaching utilizes a combination of techniques that include the Energy Leadership program from iPEC and the Creation Coaching model from Raleigh Coaching Academy.

Energy Leadership refers to both a particular and unique form of leadership, and also, literally, to the process of leading energy, so that it works for you rather than against you. By learning and applying the principles and concepts of Energy Leadership, you can increase your ability to shift your own energy and the energy of those around you. When you do that, you will help inspire and motivate yourself and others, feel a greater sense of purpose, get more done with much less effort and stress, and constantly attract powerful people and success to you.

The Creation Coaching Model© is about connecting with your authentic self. The program is about creating the future you want based on what you know and believe about yourself. This program intends to change your perspective to embrace who you really are as a leader. When you lead from authenticity, you create meaningful connections and manifest your most unique and powerful identity as a leader.

Virtual Coaching, Teaching, and Mentoring (VCTM)

Even with 2 coaching sessions per month, a lot can happen during the time between sessions. In any partnership, you shouldn’t have to wait until your next session for some coaching, teaching, or mentoring to address issues, answer questions, or provide guidance. With Virtual Coaching, Teaching, and Mentoring (VCTM), you don’t have to.

As your partner in your program of personal growth and professional development, I encourage you to reach out and ask questions via email or text for support and guidance as necessary. My commitment is to respond to any inquiries within 48 hours. If we can’t move past the issue in a productive way, we can connect on a call or virtual session - at no additional cost.

My goal is your growth. I commit to honor this partnership in your highest good and leadership development.

The Military Transition and Reintegration Process

The MTRP reframes the Military Decision Making Process for the most difficult and inevitable mission in the military - leaving. It works through the first six steps of the MDMP and provides the framework for Beyond the Military: A Leader’s Handbook for Warrior Reintegration in a manner applicable to transition and reintegration. The MTRP leverages the skills and habits formed through the operations and planning process to help you step confidently into the uncertainty of what happens next. The self-awareness you gain through this process provides the foundation to create your personal solution to the problem of transition and reintegration.

>> The 12 sessions of this coaching program covers the first 2 steps of this MTRP. Upon completion of this coaching program, you will be able to complete Steps 3 through 6 at your own pace and discover meaningful opportunities in life beyond the military.

Identity Analysis Portion of the MTRP (Step 2)

In the construct of the MTRP, we repurpose the steps of Mission Analysis into a process called the Identity Analysis. A crosswalk between these steps is included in the table below. The objective of the Identity Analysis is to uncover the details of the WHO and the WHY of your story to help write the next chapter of your life. Stated another way, this process is meant to determine who you want to be when you can’t be the service member anymore. Therefore, the analysis is introspective. By understanding your values, intrinsic motivations, strengths, and what you really want, you can craft an authentic purpose statement and intent for what happens next.

Mission Analysis and Identity Analysis Crosswalk. The Identity Analysis mirrors this crucial step from the MDMP.

Although the Identity Analysis is not a perfect reflection of the Mission Analysis, it provides a framework for understanding the process to uncover your unique and most authentic identity story. This is the most important and most critical step of the transition and reintegration process.
