Discovering your best self.

Do you remember what it was like when you first started the journey through the military? You had fire. You had passion. You were going to make a difference. When we leave the military, we need make sure we bring those things with us. They don't belong to the military. Those things belong to you. You just need to find those things that will fuel your joy in life. .

Too many veterans stagnate in life after the military. The reason why they feel stuck is because in every area of life, you either grow or die. What dies first is our sense of purpose. We lose sight of why we get out of bed in the morning. Soon to follow is the joy and passion for life. We get stuck when we make the conscious decision to settle or - even worse - move backwards. Life is about continued growth.

Life changing, remarkable, mind-opening. A motivator in the truest form . . .
— Tom Dolce, Major, U.S. Army

Sometimes when we live our lives for the expediency and security of the moment, we lose sight of the things that truly make us happy. We convince ourselves that our job or the things we settle for are just temporary until we have enough of something else. Then a year passes . . . and another . . . and another. Before you know it, we are sleepwalking our way through life. The only passion we feel is when we conjure our memories from the past. Imagine the possibility of looking forward to each day with passion and joy.

Changing how veterans approach life beyond the military.

You have the solution. You always have. Sometimes you just can’t see it for yourself.  Maybe a different perspective can help you get out of your head and back into your heart to rekindle that passion and harness that joy.

Change can certainly alter the course of our lives. Maybe it is a relationship, the kids leaving for college, a different job, moving to a new location, or any number of significant life events that introduce just enough inertia for us to get stuck. We fear change more as we get older. We have grown accustomed to our routines. Instead of looking to the future with fear and trepidation, what would it take for you to see the future as an opportunity? What would it take for you to believe that your best days were ahead of you?

You have the solution. You always have. Sometimes we can’t see it. Sometimes we need to overcome the blocks that are keeping us from creating the future we want. Maybe a different perspective can help you get out of your head and back into your heart to rekindle that passion and harness that joy.
